Air travel is typically from Gatwick or Manchester to Dalaman or Antalya airports in Turkey.

Transfer time from Dalaman airport is typically 2 hours or 3.5 hours from Antalya.

Transfers and / or car hire can be arranged if required - please contact us for details / prices.  Whilst a car is useful, it is definitely not essential in Kalkan as all facilities are within walking distance of the villa.  If you wish to travel further afield the local dolmus buses (pronounced "dolmusch") are the cheapest method, although there are plenty of taxi’s available, which are reasonably priced. 

From the harbour, boats ply back and forth to beaches, beach clubs and there are a number of pleasure cruises available from Kalkan or Kas.

Driving

Driving in this area is relatively easy as the roads are uncrowded compared to the UK.  However there are some things to watch out for: -

• The roads can deteriorate in places without notice - local roads are often unmade.
• Road signage is poor.
• Scooters - these are everywhere, seem to come out of nowhere and are often carrying two or more passengers!
• The maximum speed limit is 90 km/h (less in towns and villages) although signs are rare.  Fines are immediate and can be high.
• In the event of an accident, the Polis (in towns) or Jandarma (in rurals areas) must be called and the vehicle must not be moved.
• When driving, be sure to carry your driving licence, passport and the vehicle documentation with you. 
• The new photo style UK driving licence is acceptable - an international driving licence is not required.
• Driving after alcohol consumption is prohibited.
